PTI 'calls off' Islamabad protest as govt accepts conditions
Decision was made in PTI’s political committee’s meeting
Islamabad: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) announced to call off its scheduled protest for October 15 after government accepted PTI’s conditions, GNN News reported on Monday.
The protest was called off after government agreed to PTI’s condition to allow a medical examination of Imran Khan in Adyala Jail.
PTI’s political committee’s meeting was informed that the government was ready to allow a medical examination of PTI founder Imran Khan, and doctors will conduct his check-up at Adiala Jail today morning (October 15).
GNN News reported that doctors from PIMS Hospital will visit Adiala Jail for the medical examination. The government has also granted permission for Imran Khan's personal physician to meet him, and his personal doctor will conduct the check-up at the jail tomorrow morning.
According to sources, the decision was made during PTI’s political committee meeting in which majority of participants suggested to withdraw the protest call for Tuesday (October 15).
This is important to note that Pakistan is hosting 23 meeting of SCO Council of Heads of Government (CHG) from October 15-16.
