Ceasefire expected between Israel, Hezbollah
Lebanon's caretaker prime minister hoped that a ceasefire will be reached in a few hours
Beirut: There is a possibility of an early ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah.
Lebanon's caretaker prime minister said it is hoped that a ceasefire will be reached in a few hours. The ceasefire agreement will be monitored by the Lebanese army. Hezbollah and Hamas expressed their relationship much later.
Israel's official media released draft proposals for a ceasefire in Lebanon which will be announced in a few hours.
The draft calls for Israel and Lebanon to implement UN resolutions, finalizing the implementation of the 60-day ceasefire and the withdrawal of Israeli troops.
According to the draft, Israel will withdraw its army from Lebanon within seven days of the ceasefire and upon the withdrawal, the Lebanese army will take control of the area.
The proposed ceasefire draft stated that deployment of Lebanese forces would begin when the Israeli forces withdraw.
According to the White House, reports on the ceasefire do not reflect current negotiations; however, reports on the Israel-Lebanon ceasefire are being circulated.
