SC Constitutional Bench disposes of several cases as ineffective

Islamabad: The Supreme Court of Pakistan Thursday disposed of the narcotics case on the grounds of ineffectiveness.

A six-member constitutional bench headed by Justice Aminuddin Khan comprising Justice Jamal Mandokhel, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Justice Hassan Azhar Rizvi, Justice Musarat Hilali, and Justice Naeem Akhtar heard the case.

The petition against the appointment of Qazi Jan Muhammad was also disposed of as ineffective.

The constitutional bench also disposed of the case against the appointment of Director General (DG) Muhammad Sohail of Malir Development Authority.

Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhel said that this is a policy matter, and they cannot interfere.

The constitutional bench dismissed the petition to reschedule the General Elections 2024 on the grounds of ineffectiveness.

Justice Mandokhel said that if the lawyers did not come, they should be fined heavily.

The Additional Attorney General said that the elections have been held, and this petition has become ineffective.

Due to bad weather, a request was made to hold the elections in May instead of February.
