Brisbane: Green Shirts lost a fifth quick wicket in the first T20I against Australia today.
Glenn Maxwell’s blitzing powered Australia to a formidable total of 93 in the rain-hit first T20I of the three-match series against Pakistan at The Gabba on Thursday.
Following a rain delay, the match was reduced to seven overs per side, with a two-over powerplay. Two bowlers can bowl two overs, while three bowlers can bowl one over apiece.
Eralier, Pakistan won the toss and decided to bowl against Australia in the first T20 match being played in Brisbane on Thursday.
According to the details, the match was delayed due to light rain.
The match was scheduled to start at 1:00pm according to Pakistan time, but the toss has not yet been held, as the pitch has been covered.
Regarding this match, Rizwan said that the preparation is good and they would make the best decision regarding the final XI.
On the other hand, Australia’s Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, permanent captain Mitchell Marsh, and opener Travis Head will not participate in the match and Josh Ingles will lead Australia in the series.
The two teams last faced each other in this format in Lahore in March 2022, in which Australia won.
It is pertinent to note that the Pakistan team, which won the ODI series during the tour of Australia, has a golden opportunity to double the fun by winning the T20 series.
