Islamabad: Senior judge of Supreme Court, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah on Friday expressed concerns over limited global climate funds not reaching Pakistan.
Speaking an COP29 conference in Baku, he underscored the sever impact of climate change on Pakistan and the region, citing rising sea levels, water scarcity and increased incidents like wildfire.
Justice Shah pointed out that courts had halted non-environment friendly projects and stressed that climate financing was fundamental human right.
He noted the economic challenges faced by Pakistan, urging global action to provide necessary funding and emphasizing transparency and judicial oversight in fund allocation and usage.
