28 more Pakistani prisoners return home from Saudi jails

Jeddah: Twenty-eight Pakistanis languishing in prisons of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) will brought back home via special flight on Tuesday (today) after Prime Minister Imran Khan intervened and arranged funds for their repatriation.

Saudi Arabia has released another 28 Pakistani prisoners in Damam city of the country. Pakistan International Airline's flight 9246 with released Pakistani is arriving in Lahore on Tuesday (today).

Reportedly, these prisoners were involved in minor offenses in the Kingdom.

Pakistan Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Bilal Akbar at the directives of Prime Minister of Pakistan has been striving to release of Pakistanis detained in minor cases.

Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib in a tweet has also said that Pakistanis imprisoned in Saudi Arabia are returning home today.

In July, 62 Pakistani prisoners also returned country due to the prime minister’s efforts.
