Though Pakistani athlete finished 5th in the position, he won the millions of hearts of Pakistanis. On the other hand India's Neeraj Chopra won the gold medal.

Nadeem threw for 82.91m on his opening attempt of the final round and 81.98m on the second. His final attempt of the round and competition was a foul as he finished fifth - just two shy of a podium finish that would have netted him a medal.

All 12 qualified athletes hurled three throws. Arshad Nadeem’s first throw reached 82.40m, while his second attempt was declared foul after he over-stepped the line. in the third attempt, Arshad Nadeem threw the javelin at 84.62m.

India’s Neeraaj Chopra is leading the round with three throws at 87.03m, 87.58m and 77.79m.

Furthermore, world number one Johannes Vetter of Germany failed to make it out of the opening round with a disappointing 82.52m in first attempt followed by two foul throws.

Federal Information Minister Ch Fawad Hussain thanked Arshad Nadeem for giving Pakistanis a hope, saying the athlete is proud of nation.
