US blogger Cynthia Ritchie in hospital after she found unconscious at her flat
Islamabad: American filmmaker and social media enthusiast Cynthia D Ritchie American blogger and journalist went unconscious at her flat and rushed to a hospital on Thursday.
Police said Ritchie was shifted to a hospital for medical treatment, adding further details would be known after the hospital issued her medical report.
"The woman was brought to the hospital in unconscious condition. She was administered poison by some Indians," GNN quoted the doctots of Poly Clinic Hospital as having said.
The victim recorded her statement before the police, saying two "Indians" came to her residential property and gave her some poisonous stuff. She alleged involvement of the Indian Embassy staff.
Doctors said the victim's stomach had been washed and samples taken from the stomach had been sent for forensic examination.
Ritchie came into the limelight in June 2020 when she accused PPP leader and former interior minister Rehman Malik of raping her.
She further alleged that former Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani had "physically manhandled" her a couple of years ago.
Her allegations were refuted by both politicians.
