PM Imran, Abu Dhabi's Crown Prince discuss bilateral ties, Afghan situation in telephonic conversation

Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan held a telephonic conversation with Mohamed Bin Zayed, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Armed Forces on Sunday.

Both leaders conferred on the matters of mutual interest and emphasized on cementing the bilateral ties. They had a discussion on the regional developments, especifically the Afghan issue.

PM Imran reaffirmed the vitality Pakistan attached to its robust “fraternal ties” with the UAE and underscored the need of close cooperation between the two countries.

The premier put forward the essentiality of a peaceful and stable Afghanistan, and how it is worthy for the whole region.

Imran told the prince that Afghans are in dire need of humanitarian aid and they must be supported economically. “The world community must come forward and help in rebuilding Afghanistan,” said the premier.

Moreover, Imran Khan congratulated the Crown Prince for the excellent arrangement for the upcoming Expo 2020. He extended his best wishes for the success of the mega event.

Both sides acquiesced to work in unison to enhance collaboration in the areas of common interest.

Meanwhile, the PM also called the Saudi Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister, His Royal Highness Mohammed bin Salman and discussed bilateral ties and Afghan developments.

Imran conveyed warm wishes for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz.

Remembering the two momentous Initiatives recently pronounced by the Crown Prince to stave off the adverse effects of climate change and environmental degradation, Khan thanked the Crown Prince for inviting him to participate in the Launch ceremony of the Middle East Green Initiative (MGI), scheduled in Riyadh in October this year.

Subsequently, Prime Minister Imran Khan held a telephone conversation with the Amir of the State of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani to talk over the mutual interests and Afghan issue.

The premier reiterated Pakistan’s desire to cement the political and economic bond with Qatar. He appreciated Qatar’s countenance to Pakistan during the pandemic, especially the care of more than 200,000 Pakistani expatriates working for progress and development of both countries.
