Lahore to get clean with 940 new vehicles
LAHORE: Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid chaired the ceremony to induct 940 vehicle in the fleet of Lahore Waste Management Company here on Wednesday.
Present on the occasion were Secretary Local Government Noorul Amin Mengal Chief Executive Lahore Waste Management Company Ms Rafia Haider and other officials. Secretary Local Government Noorul Amin Mengal and CEO LWMC Ms Rafia Haider apprised the Health Minister of the details of these vehicles and their utility in Punjab.
The Health Minister said, “In order to resolve the problems of waste disposal and cleanliness in Lahore, the induction of these vehicles is a huge step forward. The vehicles include rickshaw trooper, tractor loader, chain arm roll, dumpers, mini dumpers, mechanical washers, mechanical sweepers and compactors.
Yasmin Rashid further added that Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar is greatly focused on the cleanliness of Lahore. The purpose of the induction of these vehicles is to ensure the cleanliness of Lahore and boost the performance of the Lahore Waste Management Company. We will be able to dispose of the waste in a proper way.
She urged the Lahorites to keep Lahore clean and said, "Keeping the heart of Pakistan clean is the responsibility of all of us. We are constantly monitoring the cleanliness situation as per the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar. The Committee formed by Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar is working efficiently to achieve the goals of a clean Lahore. Parents must educate their children on cleanliness. In two weeks time, people will see the difference in Lahore.”
