Track & Trace System to add billions of revenue to exchequer, says PM while appreciating efforts of FBR

Taking to twitter, PM was of the view that once fully functional in July 2021, the Track & Trace System System would add hundreds “of billions of additional revenue, curb counterfeiting and help establish rule of law.”

Imran Khan also appreciated the role FBR for achieving its seven months revenue targets and anti-smuggling measures.

“I commend FBR Field Formations on achieving 7-months revenue targets by undertaking bold tax audit and enforcement, and counter-smuggling measures. They must continue working with honesty and commitment,” PM wrote on twitter.

Imran Khan’s statement has come after the tax collecting authority surpassed the target of Rs. 2,550 billion set for July-January (2020-21) by collecting net revenue of Rs. 2,570 billion, showing a surge of Rs. 20 billion.

FBR has attributed the achievement to its reform process.
