Govt, TTP agree on ceasefire as dialogue process starts

The government and banned Tahreek-e-Taliban Pakistan agreed on ceasefire in ongoing dialogue between the two, the ministry of information and broadcasting announced on Friday.

According to the announcement, the government during dialogue process will maintain the write of state and supremacy of the constitution. The Afghan transition government is playing the role of facilitator between the Pakistani government and TTP.

On October 1, Prime Minister Imran Khan in an interview to a foreign media outlet had said the Afghan Taliban were playing role of reconcilation in dialogue, asking TTP to disarm before dialgue.
