Pakistan records lowest Covid-19 deaths in over a year

Islamabad: Pakistan has reported lowest coronavirus deaths in over a year while 2 people succumbed to the disease in last 24 hours amid 'Omicron' threat.  

Around 260 fresh coronavirus cases emerged while 2 people succumbed to the disease in last 24 hours amid 'Omicron' threat.  

Following the alarming situation, Pakistan’s government will step up COVID-19 vaccination efforts and is expanding the criteria for vaccine booster shots.

According to the latest figures issued by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), 250 persons were tested positive while 2 died in the past 24 hours— taking Pakistan's COVID death toll to 28,872. 

The total number of cases has reached 1,291,108.  

As many as 1,252,647 patients have recovered from the disease. 

Punjab

The number of patients swelled to 444,164 in the province with 13,058 causalities.

Sindh

The number of infections has surged to 479,090 in the province, while the death toll has reached 7,649.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 

The confirmed cases have surged to 180,976 in the province with 5,907 casualties.

Balochistan

There are 33,551 confirmed cases while 363 patients have died from the infection so far.

AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan

There are 34,640 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 745. On the other hand, there are 10,428 cases in GB with 186 coronavirus deaths.

Islamabad

There are 108,259 cases in the capital city while 964 people have lost their lives.
