Pak Army soldier martyred in terrorist attack on military post
Clearance of area being carried out to eliminate any terrorists found in area
Rawalpindi: A soldier of Pakistan Army has embraced martyrdom during intense exchange of fire with terrorists who targeted the military post in Shewa, North Waziristan District.
According to a statement of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Saturday, terrorists fired at a military post and the troops responded promptly and "effectively engaged the terrorists' location".
During an exchange of fire, Naik Noor Merjan, who was 32 years old, embraced martyrdom.
"Clearance of the area is being carried out to eliminate any terrorists found in the area," the statement read.
Earlier on Dec 14, a Pakistan Army soldier was martyred in the early hours of Tuesday when terrorists targeted a security forces checkpost along the Pakistan-Iran border in Abdoi sector, Balochistan.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), during the heavy exchange of fire, Lance Naik Zaheer Ahmed r/o (resident of) Nushki embraced martyrdom fighting valiantly.
The military's media wing confirmed that the Pakistan Army inflicted losses on the militants, who fled from the area.
"Pakistan's security forces remain determined to defeat such acts of inimical elements, aimed at disrupting peace, stability and progress of Balochistan," the ISPR added.
