Intelligence, security agencies have been ordered to remain on high alert hours after two separate terror attacks took place in Balochistan
Islamabad: The intelligence and security agencies of the country have been ordered to remain on high alert hours after two separate terror attacks camps in Balochistan's Panjgur and Naushki.
According to a notification, the Interior Ministry has directed the law enforcement agencies (LEAs) across the country — including Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan — to observe the “highest level of preparedness”.
The ministry said extra vigilance on the part of LEAs, provincial governments, and intelligence agencies would allow them to thwart nefarious designs of anti-state elements.
The ministry noted that Frontier Corps Balochistan’s “alertness and bravery” was instrumental in repelling the two attacks in Balochistan.
On Wednesday, at least 13 terrorists have been killed in two different attacks in Balochistan’s Panjgur and Nushki, said Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
According to the ISPR, seven security personnel have embraced martyrdom while 13 terrorists killed during operations in Naushki and Panjgur.
The ISPR also said that Pakistan Army carried out clearance operations on Wednesday night to hunt down terrorists hiding in these areas and successfully repelled two attacks in Panjgur and Nushki. It added that six soldiers and one officer embraced martyrdom.
The statement further stated that in Naushki, security forces encountered and killed nine terrorists while in Panjgur, four terrorists have so far been killed.
