Swat: An earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale jolted Malakand, Swat, Mengora and its adjoining areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Thursday.

According to National Seismic Monitoring Centre, Islamabad, the epicenter of the earthquake was located in the Pak-Afghanistan-Tajikistan border area at the depth of 93 kilometres.
Earthquakes have been reported frequently during the past few days in the northern areas of the country and days back.
On February 4, an earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale jolted Swat and its adjoining areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
The epicenter of the earthquake was located in the Koh Hindukush mountainous region at the depth of 120 kilometres, National Seismic Monitoring Centre (NSMC) confirmed.
A 5.9-magnitude earthquake jolted Islamabad and different cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) on Saturday morning.
The epicenter of the earthquake was located in the Koh Hindukush mountainous region at the depth of 210 kilometres.
On January 30, a 4 magnitude earthquake shook Swat and other areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province.
The NSMC said that the earthquake with an intensity of 4 on Richter Scale hit Mangora, the central city of district Swat, and adjoining areas.
The monitoring centre said, it had a depth of 120 kilometres with the epicentre in the Hindu Kush mountain range.
