Beijing: Prime Minister Imran Khan Thursday said that a better sense should prevail in India otherwise it is only going to damage itself.

Alluding to the marginalization of minorities including Muslims in India, Imran Khan said that this is the tragedy that has happened with India under the current regime.

While giving an interview with Director of the Advisory Committee of China Institute of Fudan University Dr Eric Li, the Premier said, “Kashmir is a disputed territory between Pakistan and India”.

India is denying the right of self-determination to Kashmiris guaranteed by the UN Security Council resolutions, Khan pointed out.

Following the interview Prime Minister invited other countries to join and invest in China Pakistan Economic Corridor project, emphasizing the government's foremost priority is geo-economics and to uplift the economy.

“Pakistan sees China Pakistan Economic Corridor and Gwadar project as a great opportunity for its geo-economics,” he stated.

Imran Khan added that his priority is to lift Pakistanis out of poverty while taking a cue from China.

Pakistan and China have always stood by each other in difficult times, Khan further added.

When asked about the Western concerns on the situation in Chinese province Xinjiang, the Imran Khan said our ambassador in China visited the area and the report he gave us is different from the one that is coming on the western media.

“What is being told by the western media do not exist against Uighurs,” he stressed.

Revealing envoy's report, Imran Khan said that unprecedented development is taking place in Xinjiang.

The cricketer-turned politician said joining the war on terror and the corruption of the past badly affected Pakistan.

“Pakistan lost about eighty thousand people and over one hundred billion dollars in the US war on terror,” he emphasized.

When asked about China-the US relations, Imran Khan said that the last thing the world wants is another ‘cold war’.

“There is no such thing as any one nation staying on top forever, it just does not have one,” he said, adding that all nations go through same period of real self-belief and hard work and they are motivated to move ahead of other nations.

He further added that, “There always comes time when the nation relaxes and loses their motivation and then some other nation comes forward, this is the human history”.

Pakistan may replicate the role it played in 1970 when it brought China and the US together, said former cricketer.
