Islamabad: Co-chairperson Pakistan People's Party (PPP), Asif Ali Zardari, has condemned Saturday's attack on Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders by alleged followers of the ruling party.

Maryam Aurangzeb, Dr. Mussadiq Malik, Ahsan Iqbal and former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abassi were attacked on Saturday outside the National Assembly by a crowd of alleged Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporters.
In a statement, the PPP co-chairperson said that attacks on political leaders are proof of intolerance. "Prime Minister Imran Khan is confused after his political defeat. He has given birth to an element of abuse and intolerance. Attacks on Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) show this nondemocratic mindset," he said, singling out the attack on Maryam Aurangzeb for particular condemnation.
The attack on PML-N leaders happened while a vote of confidence was taking place inside the assembly. PDM had boycotted the vote, stating that they will now decide when and where a vote of no-confidence will take place.
