Lahore: Chicken prices beating the previous record of all time high prices reached a new level of Rs. 400 from Rs. 350 per kg, even higher at some places.

Chicken prices in retail market increasing from Rs. 250 per kg reached to Rs. 270 per kg, while chicken meat price has raced to Rs. 460 per kg mark from Rs. 400, beating the previous record of Rs. 400 per kg.
The price of chicken is Quetta has increased significantly and now costs Rs. 400 per kilogram
Most shops in Lahore are charging between Rs. 400 to Rs. 420 per kg.
According to traders involved in chicken business, the prices are expected to cross Rs 15,000 per 40 kg mark if the concerned authorities didn’t resolved the problems faced by poultry producers.
Earlier in Febraury, Pakistan Poultry Association (PPA) attributed the steep rise in price of meat to hot weather and high feed prices.
High prices have resulted in less domestic consumption of the poultry meat as it had negative impact on the buying capacity of a common consumer.
Moreover, the prices of daily use items have observed an upward trend as profiteers have become active to gain maximum profits during the month and the prices of essential commodities have already gone up to sky high.
Besides vegetables and fruits, all the basic commodities have witnessed an increase in prices, burdening the inflation-hit nation.
