Indian soldier opens fire, kills four colleagues
Resentful BSF constable was unhappy with his duty hours
Amritsar: An Indian Border Security Force (BSF) soldier opened fire at his four colleagues and killed them before committing suicide with his service rifle in Amritsar on Sunday morning.
The incident was happened at a BSF camp in Amritsar’s Khasa area.
According to the Indian media, constable Setteppa had resentments over his duty hours. At around 10:15am, he fired upon his colleague inside the barracks.
Six injured were moved to a private hospital where five were pronounced dead and one is being treated.
He also fired at the vehicle of a commanding officer. A court of inquiry has been ordered to probe the firing and ascertain fact.
BSF is a security force which guards India’s border with Pakistan and Bangladesh.
