Islamabad: Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood announced on Wednesday that government has decided to close all schools in seven cities of Punjab from March 15 to 28.

The decision was taken following a meeting of National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC).
The minister said that all educational institutions in Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Rawalpindi, Multan and Sialkot will remain close for two weeks for Spring break.
While addressing media in Islamabad, Special Assistant to PM on Health, Dr. Faisal Sultan stated, “Government cannot open cinemas and marriage halls following current situation of coronavirus pandemic”.
He further added that, “All amusement parks must close at 6 pm and decision to allow restaurants indoor dining delayed till April 15."
The situation will further be reviewed on April 12.
Punjab Education Minister Murad Raas also tweeted, “Spring Break in all Public & Private Schools of Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Rawalpindi, Multan, Sialkot will be from March 15th, 2021 to March 28th, 2021”.
“All Public & Private schools in rest of the Districts will follow regular schedule,” he concluded.

Spring Break in all Public & Private Schools of Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Rawalpindi, Multan, Sialkot will be from March 15th, 2021 to March 28th, 2021. All Public & Private schools in rest of the Districts will follow regular schedule.
In view of prevailing diseases pattern and rising positivity ratio following has been decided.
•Strict compliance of mask wearing across the board.
•SLDs / Micro SLDs will continue to be imposed based on the disease hotspots.
•Time limit of 10:00 PM on all commercial activities will be re-enforced with immediate effect.
•Outdoor gatherings will continue to remain limited to a maximum of 300 individuals with strict implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
•Review of all enforced Non pharmaceutical interventions (NPI) will be carried out on 12th April.
The above mentioned decisions regarding NPIs are the base line decisions.
