Residents of Rawat allege local police have failed to control crimes


Rawat: Robbers killed a citizen and injured another during a house robbery in Rawat area of Rawalpindi on Thursday, sources told GNN.
Rawat police said some robbers entered a residential property and started looting cash and valuables.
Upon facing resistance, the suspects opened fire and left a man and his son injured. The house owner died of critical wounds. His son was admittefd to a nearby hospital.
Locals loged a protest against rising incidents of robbery and theft. Accoridng to area residents, the incidents of crimes had increased after the establishment of a police check post in the housing society.
Police began investigation into the incident.
In another firing incident, a man was killed and two others injured in the jurisdiction of Saddar Barooni Police Station.
According to initial reports, three persons barged into a house and started firing at the inmates. As a result, Wazir was killed, while Hamad and Qaiser were injured.
Saddar SP and SP Crime Investigation Agency along with police personnel reached the spot, and gathered evidence of the crime from the site.
“The incident is being investigated from all angles, and the culprits involved will be traced and arrested,” a police spokesman said.
