Karachi cop injured in encounter with criminal(s)

Karachi: A police constable was injured during an encounter with the criminal(s) in Sharif Abad area on early Tuesday, GNN reported. 

Constable Basil Ali was admitted to a state hospital. The DIG West inquired after the injured cop at the hospital.

Police teams are searching for the suspect(s) who are on the run.

-- Jubilation firing leaves 19 injured --

At least 19 people including women and children suffered injuries in celebratory firing on the occasion of Chand Raat in parts of Karachi.

As many 10 injured have been admitted to Civil Hospital, six to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and one has been shifted to Jinnah Hospital.  

According to GNN correspondent, the aerial firing took place depsite warning by the Karachi police.
