Washington DC: President of United States, Joe Biden said on Monday that his new administration will replace federal fleet of 645,000 cars and trucks with American-made electric vehicles in a push for the use of clean energy.

As per details, the US President signed a new executive order 'Buy American' earlier in the week and said that the federal government also owns an enormous fleet of vehicles, which they are going to replace with clean electric vehicles made right here in America made by American workers.
General Services Administration (GSA) revealed that the vehicles includes 245,000 civilian vehicles, 173,000 military vehicles, and 225,000 post office vehicles. However, the administration hasn’t provided a timeline or cost for the fleet replacement.
Biden claimed that the electrification of the U.S. fleet would create millions of jobs for American autoworkers and in clean energy fields and would be a large mobilization of public investment, especially when paired with a separate 'Buy American' order.
As per sources, the replacement could cost $20 billion or more to fully swap the fleet.
Previously on January 20, Joe Biden stated, "This will be the largest mobilization of public investment and procurement, infrastructure and R&D, since World War II”.
