Islamabad: The federal cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday approved the budget proposals for the fiscal year 2022-23.
The cabinet also accorded approval to the Finance Bill 2022.
Finance Minister Miftah Ismael will present the budgetary proposals in the National Assembly this afternoon.
In the meantime, minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved 15% increase in the government employees salaries.
In a tweet, she said that the Shehbaz Sharif rejected the Finance Ministry’s proposal of a 10% increase and has approved an increase in government employees’ salaries of 15% with the consent of the cabinet.
She said that the merger of adhoc allowances into the basic pay has also been approved.
