Court approves plea seeking Aamir Liaquat's autopsy; orders exhumation
The court was pleaded to order the exhumation and post-mortem examination of Hussain's body.

Karachi: A local court in Karachi on Saturday ordered exhumation and postmortem of TV host Aamir Liaquat Hussain’s body to ascertain the cause of his mysterious death.
According to details, the judicial magistrate issued notices to the legal heirs of Aamir Liaquat and police officials yesterday on the petition seeking the postmortem of the lawmaker who was found dead at his residence.
The police report presented in court today stated that the police surgeon could not ascertain the cause of death without examining the “internal parts” of the deceased.
On the other hand, the heirs stated they do not suspect any foul play in the former politician’s death and did not want an autopsy.
The court, after hearing the arguments of both parties, reserved the verdict which was read out.
Police, however, has been directed to comply with the court’s order.

Monsoon currents are continuously penetrating the country

Islamabad: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) is predicting more showers during the Eidul Azha holidays.
According to the Met Office, monsoon currents are continuously penetrating the country and are likely to weaken during the next 24 hours, however, it may strengthen over the weekend.
Under the influence of current weather system more rains and thundershowers have been forecast in Islamabad, Kashmir, Swat, Mansehra, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, Nowshera, Kurram, Kohat, Mianwali, Sargodha, Hafizabad, M. B Din, Rawalpindi, Murree, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Jhang, Sahiwal, Okara from July 9 to July 12 with occasional gap.
Isolated showers are also expected in Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Dadu, Thatta, Badin, Zhob, Ziarat, Barkhan, Loralai, Bolan, Kohlu, Quetta, Kalat, Khuzdar, Lasbella, Awaran, Naseerabad, Sibbi, Panjgur, Turbat between July 8 and July 9.
Heavy falls may generate urban flooding in Rawalpindi/Islamabad, Peshawar, Faisalabad, Lahore, Gujranwala and Sialkot.
Thundershowers may trigger landslides in Kashmir, Galiyat, Murree, Chillas, Diamir, Gilgit, Hunza, Astore and Skardu.
Travelers and tourists are advised to remain extra cautious during the forecast period.

PTI's five members Punjab Assembly take oath

Lahore: Five new members of Punjab Assembly of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) took oath today.
According to details, Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Perviaz Elahi chaired the 41st session of the House. Speaker Punjab Assembly administered the oath to the newly elected lawmakers.
Five new lawmakers of the PTI, who had been notified by the Election Commission of Pakistan on reserved seats, took oath during the Punjab Assembly session.
The ECP on Wednesday had issued notifications for five reserved seats of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the Punjab Assembly following the Lahore High Court verdict.
The ECP had issued notifications for the PTI’s lawmakers Batool Zain Janjua, Saira Raza, Fouzia Abbas Naseem on the vacant seats for women and Habkook Rafiq and Samuel Yaqoob were notified as the lawmakers on the minority seats.
It is pertinent to mention that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on May 26 de-seated 25 dissident MPAs of the PTI who had voted for PML-N’s Hamza Shehbaz in the election for Punjab chief minister, stating that they had defected from the party.

Nepra notifies Rs7.90 per unit hike in electricity tariff
The people will be burdened with more than Rs 113 billion

Islamabad: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Thursday notified Rs7.90 per unit increase in power tariff.
The increase in electricity prices by NEPRA was made in the context of the fuel adjustment for the month of May which will be collected in next month's bills. The people will be burdened with more than Rs 113 billion.
The increase will put an additional burden of Rs113 billion on the consumers of 10 power distribution companies.
However, the notification will not apply to lifeline and Karachi-Electric (KE) consumers.
