Lahore: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Monday appeared before the accountability court in Lahore in Ramzan Sugar Mill reference.

Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz filed an application seeking exemption from personal appearance in today's hearing due to budget engagements.
Co-accused former director-general of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Ahad Khan Cheema also appeared before the court.
The father-son duo were indicted in the case in 2020 for allegedly getting a drain built with the public funds to facilitate the Ramzan Sugar Mills.
In its reference, the NAB had alleged that former Punjab Chief Minister had issued a directive for the construction of a drain in Chiniot district, mainly for the use of Ramzan Sugar Mills—owned by his sons.
