Islamabad: The Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) has recommended the price of Russian-made COVID-19 vaccine imported by a private company, however the final decision regarding the cost will be taken by the federal cabinet.

According to a local media outlet’s sources, the meeting of the Pricing and Casting Board of DRAP was held on March 19, in which the price of coronavirus vaccine imported by the private sector was fixed.
Sources said that the DRAP pricing Board has fixed the price of two doses of Russian-made Sputnik Five vaccine between Rs8,200 and Rs9,000.
Insiders further claim that recommendations regarding the price of Russian-made vaccine have been sent to the Ministry of Health. The Ministry will forward DRAP recommendations to the Federal Cabinet for the final approval regarding price gap of the vaccine.
Once approved by the cabinet, DRAP will also issue a notification in this regard.
