Attock police detained the journalist when he was coming to Islamabad from Peshawar

Islamabad: Senior journalist was arrested by Attock police at Islamabad Toll Plaza on his way to Islamabad from Peshawar.
According to preliminary information, as many 25 to 30 policemen were present at the time of arrest.
Imran Riaz Khan was arrested by Attock police.
According to the police, an FIR has already been registered against Imran Riaz Khan in Attock.
Imran's counsel Mian Ali Ashfaq said he was heading to Islamabad when he was arrested in connection with a treason case registered against him in Attock.
Ashfaq said his client was named in 17 treason cases across Punjab, adding that he was filing a contempt of court petition against the police.
On the other hand, the arrest of Khan is being condemned on social media by senior journalists, PTI leaders and other users.
While recording the video statement in the car at the time of arrest, Imran Riaz said that he was coming to Islamabad to get his bail and that he was being arrested at Islamabad Toll Plaza.
He said that Justice Atharmanullah had instructed that no arrest could be made but he was coming to Islamabad for bail when he was arrested at Toll Plaza.
Imran Riaz said, "I don't care if I am killed. I will continue to do my job. 30 cases have been filed against me and weapons have been snatched from me. I have to make arrests.
He said that the message to all journalists is to continue their work no matter what happens.
PTI Vice President Fawad Chaudhry strongly condemned the arrest and hope that the courts would take action.
