‘Purple balloons’: Google celebrates ‘BTS ARMY Day’ with endearing Easter egg
BTS ARMY birthday celebrated by Google search with Easter egg that unlocks purple balloons, messages from the group

Google is celebrating the 9th anniversary of one of the biggest fandoms in the world— the BTS Army—as the search engine and YouTube have launched a variety of collaborations, including a new Easter egg and a Street View tour.
The search giant officially teamed up with renowned K-POP band BTS to create some special treats for the fans.
In celebration of ARMY's 9th birthday, on July 9, Google collaborated with BTS to release BTS X Street Galleries through their Arts & Culture platform.
Google frequently updates for holidays. Usually, it does so through “Google Doodles,” creative and often interactive changes that are made to the logo to celebrate holidays, anniversaries, and celebrities.
Kicking things off, the company has made an incredible new Easter egg for the occasion.
In addition, Google included a special event to their web search feature, where if you search "BTS" and click on the purple heart image on the left side of the text "BTS: Boy Band", purple balloons fill your screen.
If a user pop the heart-shaped balloons that hold microphones inside them by clicking on them, the BTS members' voices can be heard saying "I purple you".
“I purple you,” the V-coined phrase “Borahae,” has become a trademark in the BTS fandom, meaning “I will trust and love you for a long time”.
Along with the audio, users will also be greeted with a handwritten message from one of the band members, directed to the BTS ARMY.
With a never-ending stream of purple balloons that gently float toward the top of the screen. If you tap or click one of the normal balloons, it will pop and leave a splash of purple on the page.

Another part of the celebration is a collaboration with Google Arts and Culture called BTS x Street Galleries. The experience lets fans explore cities and buildings that hold special meaning to BTS members.
At each of these locations, fans will be able to create a Street Gallery with works curated by members of the band.
