Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais gets COVID-19 jab
Riyadh: The head of the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, Sheikh Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, administered the first shot of COVID-19 vaccine.
On the occasion the he also appealed the people to get vaccinated against the virus.
According to Saudi media, Head of the General Presidency for Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques was given the first dose in King Abdullah Medical City. On this occasion, the Imam also floated a message encouraging people that they must be vaccinated against the coronavirus.
On the occasion, Sheikh thanked the custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Shah Salman bin Abdul Aziz and Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman and praised the staff of the Ministry of Health for outstanding arrangements being done to curb the deadly virus.
He said that the government has provided free coronavirus vaccine to the citizens of the country and all foreigners, which in itself is a sign of how much the Saudis are giving priority to public health.
He added that the fight against the coronavirus could be won by inoculating against the disease.
Earlier, Saudi Arabia Grand Mufti Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Sheikh, had ruled that it was permissible to administer the coronavirus vaccine while fasting.
The Grand Mufti said that vaccination will not invalidate the fast. Corona vaccine is administered intra-muscularly and it does not break the fast.
