Court extends PTI leaders' bail till July 26 in Long March vandalism case
PTI held “Azadi March” in Islamabad on May 25
Lahore: Anti-terrorism Court in Lahore on Tuesday extended the interim bails of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders till July 26 in a case of vandalism during PTI's long march.
According to details, ATC judge Abhar Gull heard the case of vandalism by PTI leaders in their long march towards Islamabad.
Advocate Burhan Moazzam Malik represented PTI, while party leaders Jamshed Iqbal Cheema, Hamad Azahar, Dr Yasmin Rashid, Ejaz Chaudhary, Mehmoodur Rashid, Zubair Niazi, Nadeem Abbas and Aslam Iqbal appeared before the court.
While giving his arguments, PTI lawyer Burhan Moazzam said that the police is not investigating the accused properly. "When the accused go to be interrogated, the interrogator is not there," he said.
During the hearing, the court directed that the accused should appear before the police today (Tuesday) and join the investigation.
It is pertinent to remember that the anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore had issued non-bailable arrest warrants for the former ruling party’s leaders at the request of Shahdara police station under charges of damaging public property, torturing police officials, and creating chaos during the party’s long march to Islamabad on May 25.
