Islamabad: China has announced to supply more vaccine doses as gifts to Pakistan by March 31, announced Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi.

According to details, Chinese Foreign Minister while talking to his Pakistan counterpart has said that more than 100 countries have contacted China for the supply of anti-COVID vaccine however maintaining the friendship, vaccine will be provided to Pakistan on a priority basis.

The Chinese Foreign Minister said that vaccine dosages would be delivered to Pakistan by March 31.

According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a local media outlet, Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi had a telephone conversation with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Jie during which both the dignitaries discussed the bilateral relations, issues of mutual interest and cooperation in various fields.

Foreign Minister Qureshi also expressed gratitude to China for earlier gifting Pakistan 1.5 million doses of Chinese vaccine, underlining that it had played a pivotal role in protecting precious human lives, read the statement issued by Pakistan foreign office.

Pakistani counterpart also thanked the Chinese leadership for sending good wishes for Prime Minister Imran Khan and said the way China helped Pakistan in the Corona epidemic is exemplary.

The Foreign Minister briefed his Chinese counterpart on COVID-19 vaccination dive being carried in Pakistan, and said that Pakistan has framed a vaccination plan to protect citizens from the deadly virus.

More doses of vaccine from China to help government’s comprehensive plan of facilitating the masses, he added.

Both Foreign Ministers reaffirmed their resolve to further deepen Pakistan-China “All-Weather Strategic Co-operative Partnership”.

Both counterparts agreed to continue high-level exchanges between the brotherly states.
