Dubai: The deputy ruler of Dubai and finance minister of United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum has passed away on Wednesday morning.

The news was shared by Dubai ruler, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid on his twitter account.
"We belong to God and to Him we shall return … May God have mercy on you, my brother, my support and my companion,” he wrote.

Reportedly, Hamadan had been feeling unwell for the last few months.
Sheikh Hamdan was the first finance minister of UAE in 1971 and served on the position till his death. He has been the key person in developing financial policies for the government.
