Court grants bail to Imran Khan in Section 144 violation case
Imran Khan tenders apology in judge threat case, Judge was not present in court
Islamabad: An additional district and sessions court in Islamabad on Friday granted bail to former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan in the Section 144 violation case.
According to details, the former premier appeared before the court of Additional Sessions Judge Zafar Iqbal, seeking bail in a case pertaining to the violation of Section 144 in Islamabad during the party’s rally on August 20. On the occasion, strict security arrangements had been made outside the court.
Additional Sessions Judge Zafar Iqbal granted bail to PTI Chairman Imran Khan.
After attending the proceedings, Imran Khan along with his lawyer arrived in the court of Judge Zeba Chaudhry to apologize to her personally for his statement. However, she was not present in the courtroom at which Imran Khan addressed the reader and the steno and asked them to tell the judge that Imran Khan had come to tender an apology to her.
Earlier, Imran Khan told the Islamabad High Court (IHC) that he was willing to apologize to Judge Zeba Chaudhry for his controversial remarks. “I am ready to apologize to the female judge,” Imran Khan had told the court.
“The court thinks that I have crossed a line. My intention was not to threaten the female judge. If the court says so, I am ready to personally go to the judge and apologize,” he had said.
