Pakistan wants climate justice for its people: Foreign Minister
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said peace in South Asia will not be possible without resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.
Berlin: Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari says the recent devastating climate induced floods and rains in Pakistan have left more than a million houses destroyed and 4.3 million acres of standing crops under water.
Speaking at a news conference along with his German counterpart, Annalena Baerbock after their bilateral meeting in Berlin, he said after the devastation of floods, Pakistan aspires to build back in a greener and more climate resilient manner.
The Foreign Minister said Pakistan wants climate justice for its people, as it produces less than one percent of the global carbon footprint but is affected the most by the climate change.
Highlighting the grave human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, he said the alarming situation poses risks for regional peace and stability.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said peace in South Asia will not be possible without resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN Security Council resolutions, international law and wishes of Kashmiri people.
