Seoul: Park Jimin, member of the globally renowned K-POP colossus BTS, has set a new record for becoming the “only celebrity” in the world to dominate the worldwide Twitter trends with at least 29 keywords and hashtags, for the third consecutive year.     

The idol is celebrating his 27th birthday and received congratulatory messages from fans (ARMYs), celebrities, official accounts, and media worldwide. Also, he achieved a third new record, occupying a total of 29 real-time trends as he became the only celebrity in Twitter’s history to shake off the unprecedented dignity of the ‘real-time trends king’ by sweeping 29 of the world’s real-time trend ranking on his birthday. 

Even on his 26th birthday in 2020, he swept 28 of the top 30 trends.  

Jimin is one of the most loved idols not just in South Korea but also globally, with undoubtedly the biggest fan support for any individual idol. Many of the fans have noted the unbelievably huge traffic of visitors all showing up to attend Jimin's birthday events, some being fans while others are simply curious locals attracted by all the colorful events. 

The festive month of October also termed as ‘Jimtober’ has become another opportunity for idol's brand power to be seen. Fans from all over the world have organized numerous highly innovative and grand-scale birthday projects. 

It is pertinent to mention here that, the venues where the birthday events are being held have recorded big jumps in revenue, even causing some of the projects to be extended for their positive impact. 

Jimin has a global fanbase and fans worldwide have put up birthday events to celebrate the vocalist’s big day. Here, let’s take a look. 

Jimin land

In Busan—Jimin’s hometown— a huge doll has been placed at the Busan Ocean Garden at Busan Port in Yeongdo. The place has been visited by countless ARMYs until now. The birthday project went live on October 9 and will continue till 15th of this month. The 'Jiminland' event is already attracting lots of visitors irrespective of age and gender, all of whom are queuing to take photos with the many Jimin displays at the venue. 

BE special photo booth

Another beautiful project is a ‘BE special’ photo booth where the ARMY can click pictures in the similar frame as that of Jimin from his BE photoshoot. There is also a whole street-wide presentation, and building projects. 

Times Square project

Like previous years BTS ARMY has also featured an LED birthday wish for BTS’ member in New York City.  The birthday project is live from October 10 to October 16 at 20 Times Square, on the big screen. 

Hologram show in Peru

Fans in Peru organized a hologram show—a themed water show and exhibition—where all the different talents that Jimin has were highlighted. Loads of ARMY visited the sight where the hologram show went live.

Fundraisers 

Fans in association with Anna Foundation have organized a fundraiser for the education of rural children in South Africa on Jimin's birthday. 

The BTS ARMY in India also organized a fundraiser for girl child education, which is active since 1st October. It is a month-long fundraiser which aims at promoting the need and rights of girl child education. 

Apart from numerous birthday events, the other place that has lit up in South Korea is Jimin’s dad’s cafe.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Jimin along with other bandmates will perform at Busan Concert on  October 15.
