Authorities approved to reduce the per unit base tariff for electric tube wells from 16.60 rupees to 13 rupees.

Islamabad: Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has approved a 3.60 rupees reduction in per unit base tariff for electric tube wells, to provide relief to the farmers.
The Committee which met in Islamabad with Finance Minister Ishaq Dar in the chair, approved to reduce the per unit base tariff for electric tube wells from 16.60 rupees to 13 rupees.
The new per unit base tariff will be effective from first of the current month to compensate the damage caused by floods and heavy rains.
The ECC, after a detailed discussion, also approved a Supplementary Grant of two billion rupees for flood-related media campaigns.
