Violent clashes erupted after France qualify for Final beating Morocco in World Cup

Paris: A 14-year-old boy has been killed after being violently run over amidst clashes, following France's World Cup victory over Morocco in Qatar.
According to French media, the teenage boy was hit by a car after someone tried to steal a French flag from the driver, which led to the car swerving in the direction of the crowd.
Reportedly, the boy was part of a group walking down Rue de la Mosson when a car ploughed into him amid the chaos in the city.
Horror video footage was captured when the car smashed into him at speed and drove off.
France qualified for the final of FIFA World Cup 2022 beating Morocco by 2-0 goals in Qatar last night. The final will be played between France and Argentina on Sunday at 08:00 pm Pakistan Standard Time.
Riots broke out on Wednesday night after France defeated Morocco in the world cup semi-final. The violent clashes took place across the country, including in the capital Paris.
It is pertinent to mention here that there is a history of animosity between the French and Moroccans due to more than four decades of French colonial dominance of the North African country from 1912 until its independence in 1956.
The colonial past is seen as one of the reasons for Morocco having a huge diaspora in France.
As of 2019, Moroccans formed the second-largest non-European Union immigrant population in France, roughly 18.4% of the total figure.
Last week too, riots erupted in Paris after the celebrations of the fans of Morocco and France turned ugly and the French police had to fire tear gas.
