Elections were not held on 11 seats due to death of some candidates.


Karachi: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Monday released the final results of local government (LG) election in 235 union councils (UCs) of Karachi.
According to the results, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has won the race with highest number of seats i.e. 93 in Karachi.
The leading party is followed by Jamat-e-Islami (JI) with 86 seats and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is in the third position with 40 seats.
The other parties including Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMNL-N) scored seven seats, while Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) and independent candidate with three seats each and Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) with two seat.
Elections were not held on 11 seats due to death of some candidates.
Meanwhile, in the second phase of local body elections of Sindh, the Hyderabad division had also received final results so far.
According to the results, out of 3101 seats of Hyderabad division, PPP is leading by winning 1034 seats overall. Whereas PTI won 126 seats, JI won 111 seats and Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) won 15 seats while independent candidates won 92 seats.
Turning to Twitter, PPP chairperson and foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari stated that his party swept the second phase of the local government election.
