The party president stated that PML-Q as a political party has its own vote bank, discipline, manifesto and code.


Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain Monday suspended the party membership of Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi for his statements about the possibility of his party’s merer with Imran Khan led party Pakisatan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
In Lahore, PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat called a meeting on Parvez Elahi's statements about the party, in which Secretary-General Tariq Bashir Cheema, Senior Vice president Chaudhry Salik Hussain and senior leader Chaudhry Shafay Hussain participated.
After the meeting, a show cause notice was issued to Parvez Elahi and his membership was suspended.
Chaudhary Shujaat said in the show cause notice that the provincial president of the party cannot merge it into another party.
Parvaiz Elahi's statements of party’s merger with Pakisatan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) are the violation of party rules.
Parvez Elahi should give explanation for unconstitutional and illegal move within seven days. If he fails to do so, action will be taken against him, till then his party membership had been suspended.
The president stated that PML-Q as a political party has its own vote bank, discipline, manifesto and code.
It is pertinent to note that a few days back PTI Chairman Imran Khan said: “I have suggested to Parvez Elahi that Q-League should be merged into PTI”. While in this regard Pervez Elahi said that we have called a meeting of the members of the assembly on this issue and will decide on it.
