NAB raids Punjab Food department office, seizes sugar export record
Lahore: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) during the raid at the Punjab Food Department office has seized the sugar export record from the department’s office
According to sources, NAB had sought a three-year export record of sugar from the Food Department and in this regard, the NAB's joint investigation team is conducting an inquiry.
The food department failed to provide the relevant record to the anti-graft body for the last three years, despite asking it several times.
Pakistan Sugar Mills Association Chairman Sikandar M. Khan has also appeared before the NAB in the same case however Mr Khan provided a relevant record to the NAB said sources.
Earlier, on Wednesday, the Lahore High Court (LHC) had directed the authorities concerned to ensure the sale of sugar at Rs80/kg in the holy month of Ramazan.
