The deceased has four children including three daughters and one son who were present at the time of incident in Gokhwal area of district Faisalabad.


Faisalabad: A man on Tuesday allegedly killed his wife merely on demanding a new cellphone in Gokhwal area of district Faisalabad.
The suspect used axe to take life of his wife after she put her demand of the cellphone.
The deceased has four children including three daughters and one son.
According to the police, the suspect had suspected the wife that she had been talking to someone on the phone and visiting him.
The neighbors believed that the deceased belonged to the Christian community but she turned Muslim due to a Muslim family with whom she worked. The woman’s husband objected to it and it became a bone of contention between the couple.
The victim's daughter said that the mother had asked him to take the mobile phone on which the father hit her with an axe.
At the time of the incident, their children were also present in the house. After the murder, the husband himself went to the police and reported the murder and surrendered him.
The police had taken the body into custody and shifted it to Allied Hospital.
The police said that the postmortem of the deceased was being conducted.
No one had yet contacted the family of the deceased to receive the body and the FIR of the incident had not been registered.
“The victim’s family does not want to include Section 311 of Pakistan Penal Code in the FIR to be registered against the suspect,” said a senior police officer.
He said, “They don’t want it to be an honor killing case,”.
However, he said the victim family would lodge the FIR under Section 302 of PPC with the police station concerned.
