Plea against Imran’s arrest warrants: IHC ask PTI chief to approach sessions court
The court has held that the trial court will decide the matter related to arrest warrants and the undertaking in this regard.

Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday disposed of the plea against arrest warrants issued for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan in Thoshakhana case, with direction to the petitioner to approach the relevant trial court in this regard.
“Imran Khan should submit his plea in the session court,” held the court while deciding the plea moved by the PTI’s legal team against the arrest warrants.
IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq announced the verdict reserved earlier after completion of arguments of both sides.
During the proceedings, the judge asked Khawaja Haris Ahmed who was representing Imran Khan whether he had addressed all the objections raised on the petition.
The counsel submitted that Imran Khan was directed to appear before the court on March 13 but he could not do so.
At this, the CJ asked the counsel about implementation of its previous order, observing that the court would examine the possible repercussions of not implementing its orders.
“It’s all because of you as the court had earlier provided a respectable path which was not followed,” the CJ further observed.
Imran’s lawyer submitted an affidavit carrying signature of Imran Khan and asked the judge to suspend the arrest warrants issued for him.
At this, CJ Aamer Farooq observed that one must show respect to the courts no matter it was a civil court or trial court.
Justice Farooq also observed that a political party’s workers were attacking the police. He also remarked that it was an attack on the state.
The petition was filed after a local court in Islamabad Capital issued Imran’s arrest warrants and ordered the police to arrest Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan in the Toshakhana case once again over his non-appearance.
Islamabad police reached Zaman Park to implement the court orders and the situation turned violent as clashes erupted between the police and the PTI workers.
Meanwhile, the LHC barred the police from operation inside Zaman Park.
