The petitioner Zahoor Mehdi filed a complaint under Article 62-1F.
Islamabad: Supreme Court Islamabad Thursday dismissed the petition to disqualify President Dr. Arif Alvi, GNN reported.
According to details, the case was heard by two-member bench headed by Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan.
The petitioner Zahoor Mehdi had filed a complaint under Article 62-1F, stating that he was a presidential candidate, and had six objections on Arif Alvi's papers.
He added: “Dr. Alvi was an under-trial accused at the time of the presidential election,” adding that his papers were rejected because they were not supportive and suggestive.
The petitioner stated that country is now in crisis by giving authority to someone who is not qualified as president, political parties are at odds with each other.
Justice Ijaz-ul-Hassan said: “It is not your concern that political parties are fighting each other, it is a political procedure”.
