Islamabad: Former President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari Monday suggested Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif to negotiate with the opposition, while speaking at the special session of the National Assembly regarding the Golden Jubilee of the Constitution of Pakistan.

Former President Zardari said that the authority of the dialogue is with the Prime Minister, but I will request Shehbaz Sharif to negotiate with the opposition and not to set conditions before coming to the dialogue, however the opposition should also come to Shehbaz Sharif for negotiations as he is the prime minister.

He said that Japan and Korea had been bankrupt, India is a country 10 times bigger than us, they had reserves of one billion dollars at one time, but it had to send its gold to Switzerland, Pakistan will rise and we will take and pick it up.

Asif Zardari said that this is not the first time that the court has sent a notice. It has been happening as I have faced hundreds of suo motu notices against me, there have been entries against us before too.

“When Benazir Bhutto was martyred, we raised the slogan of long live Pakistan,” he stated adding that I was picked up from the hospital at 12 in the night and put in jail.

He further said that I also had TTP threats, but we will go wherever people call us, then we will see what happens. We will continue to fight for democracy as long as we have it.
