Rana Sanaullah says the polls will be conducted this year under the supervision of the caretaker government.

Faisalabad: Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah claimed that the elections would not be held on May 14 at any cost while the opposition could not pressurize the government.
“Elections will be held in the country on the same day. Polls will be conducted this year under the supervision of the caretaker government,” said Rana Sanaullah while talking to the reporters on Sunday.
The Interior Minister also lashed out at the PTI, saying that a conspiracy was done to impose this evil [Imran Khan] on the country in the last elections. He blamed him for destroying the country’s economy. He claimed that the prices of essential commodities like flour, sugar and petrol were low at the end of the PML-N government in 2013.
Rana Sanaullah went on to say that the PML-N government had eliminated load-shedding and terrorism in the country. He said that International Monetary Fund (IMF) was responsible for skyrocketing inflation in the country, adding that the IMF set conditions to end subsidies on petrol, electricity and gas.
The minister further stated that Nawaz Sharif had brought the country out of crises and now it would not default, claiming that the economic crisis would soon be over.
Rana Sana criticised that the opposition has nothing else to do except for running baseless propaganda, saying that Nawaz Sharif would return to Pakistan before the elections to lead his party this year.
Earlier, Sanaullah said that the Punjab elections will affect the general polls and any flaw in security will worsen the law and order situation in the country.
Rana Sanaullah said in a statement that if elections were organised in Punjab then elections in each province would be held six months before the general polls.
He alleged that attempts are being made to conduct controversial elections. He said that security arrangements for Punjab elections are impossible in the current circumstances. Sanaullah added that the government is being forced to spend billions on security arrangements.
