Ready for elections if assemblies are dissolved before May 14, says Imran Khan
The PTI Chief says if the assemblies are not dissolved before May 14, then they will ask the court that we want elections in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Lahore: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan in yesterday's negotiations, they had only one thing to say: dissolve the assemblies before May 14 and they were ready for elections all together.
“We have been accused of crimes we did not commit. These people who are running away from the elections only want to hold them when they think I have been removed from the picture. Their only goal is to somehow remove me,” said Imran Khan while addressing the rally taken out in connection with the Labours’ Day on Monday.
The PTI rally started from Liberty roundabout, with a large number of party workers participating. Imran Khan addressed the workers from inside his vehicle parked at Nasser Bagh.
He said that the Supreme Court had clearly ordered to hold elections in Punjab elections on May 14. The Supreme Court said to negotiate with them, and if they agreed, then elections would be held not only in Punjab but throughout the country.
Khan once again set a condition and said that in yesterday's negotiations, they had only said one thing that end the assemblies before May 14, and they were ready for elections.
“If they think that we will get stuck in their plan and wait for the September elections, then do not misunderstand, if the assemblies are not dissolved before May 14, then we will ask the court that we want elections in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” said the PTI chief.
He also said that if these people [PDM] break the constitution or did anything against the judges, then the PTI would be on the streets.
“Tehreek-e-Insaf will be standing with the Supreme Court and Chief Justice. So far, we have protested peacefully due to economic conditions,” said Khan, adding that If they violated the constitution, then there would be law of jungle in the country.

He warned, “the country is heading towards destruction, and the common man is suffering from inflation. If they violate the constitution, then what remains of Pakistan, in which country will investors invest if the government does not accept the orders of the Supreme Court?,”.
If the Constitution, he said, was violated the people would be standing by his side, adding that the country would turn into a banana state if the powerful did not care about the Constitution and the law.
He stated that according to the constitution, if the assembly ended, the elections should be held in 90 days.
Imran said, “The caretaker government did not do anything for the election. The caretaker government had no constitutional status, and 70 percent of the people's elected representatives are not in the country,”.
As the speech ended at Nasser Bagh, the PTI chief departed for his residence in Zaman Park.
Earlier, in a conversation during the rally, Imran Khan said that they received an overwhelming response from Lahore for the rally. He said after a splendid start, the rally was gaining momentum.
“This [Rally] is a warning for those who are thinking of violating the Supreme Court and the constitution,” he added.
