Rawalpindi: The security forces conducted an Intelligence-Based Operation (IBO) in the Miran Shah area of North Waziristan district, said Inter-Services Public Relations said on Monday.
The military’s media wing said that seven terrorists belonging to the Hafiz Gul Bahadur Group were arrested, including a prominent terrorist commander named Mehtab, also known as Lala. The arrested terrorists were involved in carrying out terrorist activities against innocent civilians and security forces.
The ISPR further said that the operation was well-received by the locals in the area, who showed their full support to the security forces in eliminating the menace of terrorism from the region. It is important to note that this is the second successful operation conducted by the law enforcement agencies in the area, as earlier they killed two terrorists in an intelligence-based operation.
In a separate intelligence-based operation conducted in Dera Ismail Khan, a Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) commander named Jabbar Shah was killed, and two other terrorists were injured. The terrorist commander was involved in attacks on polio teams, sectarian killings, and receiving ransom money.
