Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg wows fans as he competes and wins in his first Brazilian jiu jitsu tournament, showcasing his grappling skills.


Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta (formerly known as Facebook), recently surprised his fans by showcasing his jiu-jitsu skills in a martial arts tournament. Despite being primarily known for his work in the tech industry, the billionaire showed his excellence in the grappling martial art, securing gold and silver medals in his first-ever tournament.
Zuckerberg won medals in both the Gi and No-Gi categories. The former involves participants wearing loose-fitting uniforms of heavy fabric tied with a belt, while the latter involves grappling without a uniform. He took to Instagram to share his victory with his followers, thanking his trainers for helping him prepare for the competition.

In an interview with Joe Rogan in 2022, Zuckerberg mentioned his interest in mixed martial arts (MMA) during the COVID-19 pandemic and had been training in various aspects of the combat sport since then. He cited the primal intensity of MMA as a reason for his interest in the sport.
Apart from training in MMA, Zuckerberg has also been seen sitting at the ringside at the UFC fighting competitions and has developed a friendship with UFC chief Dana White. He has even posted footage of him sparring with mixed martial artist Khai "The Shadow" Wu, which went viral on the internet, attracting thousands of comments and likes.
The tech mogul emphasized the importance of training to maintain his energy level and focus and said that he has a connection with the sport. He has found solace in activities like surfing and foiling during the pandemic and believes MMA is perfect because it demands complete attention from the fighter at all times.
Zuckerberg's move to step out of his comfort zone and showcase his jiu-jitsu skills has garnered attention and appreciation from fans worldwide, who admire his dedication to not just technology but also his interest in sports and fitness.
